DieQua Attends Sales and Networking Meetings
By: Chris Popp
Director of Sales and Marketing
While meetings can often be time consuming and less than productive, DieQua representatives attended two periodic events in October that always pay back the time invested.
From October 4-6 President Mike Quaas, Director of Sales and Marketing Chris Popp and Application Engineer Roberto Vasquez attended the 15th edition of the Tandler International Sales Meeting in Bremen Germany. Tandler is DieQua’s longest standing manufacturing partner providing high precision spiral bevel gearboxes, shaft phasing gearboxes, planetary gearheads and hypoid gearboxes.
Almost 40 representatives from over 20 countries attended the 3 day program that is scheduled every 2 years. As always, education and networking were high on the list of activities planned.
Technical sessions included the sharing of unique application solutions generated from each of the territories, a review of the new manufacturing and spiral bevel gearbox assembly procedures that result in even more consistent performance, how seals function and trouble shooting techniques for the rare instance issues arise, and an exercise in gearbox failure analysis.
Networking functions to share sales and marketing strategies were abundant starting with the opening reception and continuing at the joint meals and breaks between sessions. It’s a homecoming of sorts as some of DieQua’s relationships with other agencies go back 30 years. With new sales organizations coming on board, along with additions to the veteran groups, conversations were lively and informative.
From October 7-9 Motion Products Manager Tom Kahn attended the 30th anniversary meeting and celebration of the Association of High Technology Distribution (AHTD) held at the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff Alberta Canada.
The AHTD is a professional organization that has worked to increase the productivity, profitability and market share of Automation Solution Providers and the Manufacturers that supply them. Through a wide spectrum of association programs and services, designed by and for members, AHTD is a valuable resource for member companies to achieve their goals.
Networking and education opportunities are key here as well. Along with a series of educational sessions designed to increase the business skills and professionalism of the members there is ample networking time to strengthen existing supplier/distributor relationships while meeting new people and investigating potential new relationships. Many of DieQua’s Authorized Distributors find value in being members of this organization.
The meeting culminated in the Product Showcase where suppliers present their wares to the distribution hierarchy in a relaxed atmosphere. DieQua highlighted the widest range of servo gearhead solutions available from a single source. Our selection of standard and alternative gear technologies provides distributors an expanded portfolio of products designed to satisfy the unique needs of their customers.
Did you know that DieQua publishes a monthly email newsletter that features interesting articles just like this one?
Our newsletter was designed to be a little different than other manufacturer's newsletters that are primarily product centric. While products and services available from DieQua are highlighted, other elements revolve around the personal and professional development of the design engineer.
