Zimm Screw Jacks Now Produced In The United States

DieQua Corporation has partnered with Zimm since 1998 to supply their world class screw jack systems to the North American market. Zimm, based in Lustenau Austria, has been designing and manufacturing leading edge screw jack technology for almost 30 years.
The advantages of Zimm’s product offering revolve around their “building block” design, with the widest range of options and accessories available to construct complete lifting systems. This includes the screw jacks and all the drive, connecting and safety components from a single source.
Specifying a screw jack system can be a complicated endeavor as each application has its unique requirements. These include the load to be raised, its dynamic or static condition, the lift speed, the lift distance, and the duty cycle the screw jack system will experience. Other environmental elements can also affect the selection.
Each screw is customized to satisfy the intended loads, lengths and options and is assembled to order accordingly. The recently published application guide (PDF - 1.8MB) provides the basic work sheets and check lists to get someone started in identify the basic information and design criteria for integrating a screw jack.
Easier yet, DieQua provides design assistance to their customers to take the guess work out of product selection. Application engineers are available to discuss your performance goals and design parameters. After identifying the application requirements a bill of material including the appropriate system components can be created along with a complete system drawing in 2D or 3D.
Up until now all screw jack systems have been manufactured and assembled in Austria. To improve delivery times for new projects and enhance service capabilities for North America’s large installed base, a new manufacturing and assembly center was created this year within DieQua’s US factory located in the Chicago area.
While Zimm’s program extends up to 100 ton capacity, initial North American production will be limited to 5 sizes with a range of 1/2 ton up to 10 ton. Both the standing and rotation versions will be available with screws machined to proper lengths and ends finished to the customer’s specifications.
