DieQua Attends 2010 PTRA Conference
DieQua Corporation attended the most recent PTRA Conference held in Charleston, SC from April 11th to the 14th. The PTRA, or Power-Motion Technology Representatives Association, is a non-profit organization made up of independent manufacturer representation firms and the manufacturers of power transmission and motion control products that sell through them.
The main goals of the Association are to optimize the value of the rep/principal relationship and to enhance the professionalism of its members. This is accomplished by providing training and networking opportunities.
This was the first time that DieQua attended this meeting after only recently becoming a member. DieQua converted to an all independent rep sales force about 3 years ago. Attending the meeting was Chris Popp, the Director of Sales and Marketing, and Mary Delafeld, DieQua’s Outside Sales Manager and the one responsible for field sales force development.
Three of our sales partners also attended the conference. They were Dan Rahfaldt of Xsell Products covering Wisconsin, Jeff Powell of Precise Motion covering Illinois to Ohio, and Owen McCarron of OEM Industrial covering New Jersey, Eastern PA, and the surrounding area.
Besides the networking opportunities, there were several relevant and informative seminars on relationship building and time management. Many good ideas were presented that, I’m sure, were found valuable by all who attended.
We also had a chance to meet some prospective sales partners for areas of the country that are not presently covered adequately with local representation. Having these initial conversations face to face, in a relaxed but focused environment, helped to more quickly determine the viability of a future partnership.
All in all, the conference was deemed a successful venture and one that DieQua is likely to continue participating in year after year.
Did you know that DieQua publishes a monthly email newsletter that features interesting articles just like this one?
Our newsletter was designed to be a little different than other manufacturer's newsletters that are primarily product centric. While products and services available from DieQua are highlighted, other elements revolve around the personal and professional development of the design engineer.
