DieQua Visits Hannover Fair
The premier industrial trade show was once again held in this German city. DieQua visited the fair to investigate emerging trends.
While the Hannover Fair is held every year, different categories of industrial products are highlighted every other year. This year the focus was on factory automation, power transmission components, motion control components, fluid power, and other products interesting to machinery designers and manufacturers. The scope of the show included exhibits filling over 20 halls.
Trade shows in Europe are still a viable vehicle for introducing new products. While the crowds were down slightly, visitors from every corner of the earth attend what is the largest exhibition of this type in the world. A real global snapshot of available products is possible at this one event.
The purpose of our visit was two fold. The first was to support three of our manufacturing partners, WATT Drive, Tandler, and R+W, who were exhibiting at the show. The second was to investigate the possibility of securing additional partnerships with companies producing gear products not presently in our program.
From both of these standpoints we considered the show a great success. Both traffic for each of our partners was brisk, although the number of North American visitors was very low. This could be attributed to the high cost of travel and the general trend of reduced American travel abroad.
We were also successful in establishing initial dialogs with several manufacturers of alternate gear products looking to begin operations in North America. The products we focused on were low cost worm speed reducers, large-scale helical gear speed reducers, and industrial planetary gearboxes, all of which are not presently in our program offering. We were happy to find a number of producers of these products interested in working with us.
DieQua Corporation is a manufacturer and supplier of motion control and power transmission gear products and related components. While we presently have a wide range of solutions available our goal is to be a full service provider of gear products in every design category. Visiting the Hannover fair and establishing relationships with the best manufacturers in the world was the next step in achieving that goal.
Did you know that DieQua publishes a monthly email newsletter that features interesting articles just like this one?
Our newsletter was designed to be a little different than other manufacturer's newsletters that are primarily product centric. While products and services available from DieQua are highlighted, other elements revolve around the personal and professional development of the design engineer.
